The Glan Devon Bio-fertiliser Project is a joint venture between BYV Organics and QADO Ventures.

BYV Organics is a joint Venture between Kuhle Pty Ltd, a leading provider of public transport, logistics and waste management services in South East Queensland, including the South Burnett region, and Verterra Ecological Engineering an award winning agronomics, and ecological engineering company. BYV Organics combines the Agronomic and environmental expertise of Verterra with the logistics and resource recycling experience of B&Y to manage 37,000 tonnes  per annum of biosolids for direct land application. 

QADO Ventures is a wholly owned subsidiary of Rephyt Ltd from the UK, which has rights to the Xetrov vortex technology in Australia. Xetrov has been demonstrated to cleanly and efficient unlock high grade heat from non-recyclable waste streams.

Meet the Team

Rusty Mark

Rusty has over 30 years’ experience in environment, energy and resources research and development. Since 2019, his focus has particularly been in the areas of finding beneficial reuse opportunities for waste products from water treatment. He worked as a Technical Specialist – Beneficial Reuse for Seqwater (May 2019-Jul 2020) and joined B&Y in 2020 as Special Projects Manager. He currently oversees the end-to-end implementation of beneficial reuse projects including improving quality, efficiency and profitability.

Mieke Elder

Mieke is an Agricultural Specialist and Project Manager with over 15 years of experience supporting clients, managing projects and building strong stakeholder relationships across regional and rural Australia. Mieke is passionate about and invested in contributing to the success of the agricultural industry in the regional and rural communities she works in. Mieke manages BYV Organics large scale biosolids projects across Southeast Queensland.

Project manager

Glenn is BYV Organics Director and Chief Technical Officer. With over 35 years’ experience in forestry and natural resources management, his key technical competencies include saline-sodic soil management and plant-soil-water interactions, dispersive spoil rehabilitation; gully remediation; as well as large scale soil survey and land capability assessment. Glenn, has served on the Australian New Zealand Biosolids Partnership (ANZBP) since 2017.

Dr Glenn Dale

Bill is currently a director of Rephyt Ltd and one of the founders of the QADO Group, with over 35 years of international business experience in the oil and gas, mining, and power generation industries.

In the ASX-listed renewable energy and mine-site power generation company Energy Developments Limited, Bill held executive management roles spanning operations, manufacturing, and international business and project development; and as CEO of the waste to energy subsidiary, and ultimately the COO of the parent company.
He holds a BASc in Geological Engineering from the University of Windsor (Ontario, Canada) and is a Graduate Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD).

Bill Lazarus

Marty is managing director of Khule Pty Ltd and a director of BYV Organics Pty Ltd.

He is an accomplished business leader with over 25 years of experience as a company director in the Australian passenger transport, construction, and environmental sectors. Known for transforming a small transport operation into a multi entity group with over 300 vehicles and 500 staff, while maintaining a focus on compliance, safety, and service excellence.

Marty has a proven track record in securing and delivering ongoing government contracts at all levels, and in initiating and leading strategic joint ventures. Strong expertise in best-practice management through the successful implementation of ISO accreditation for Safety, Environment, and Quality Systems across multiple business operations.
